The Office of the Supreme Leader

Iran to break authority of powers that rely on nukes

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei underlined that the Iranian nation has never sought and will never seek nuclear weapons and has the capacity to break the supremacy of powers that rely on nuclear arms.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution further emphasized that Iran will prove to the entire world that nuclear weapons cannot solidify power during a Wednesday meeting in Tehran with the director and officials of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and nuclear scientists.

Ayatollah Khamenei also emphasized that scientific and nuclear achievements are directly linked to the country’s national interests and its future success.

"If nations manage to independently achieve progress in the fields of nuclear energy, aerospace, science and technology, there will be no room left for the tyrannical hegemony of global powers," Leader of the Islamic Revolution said.

Ayatollah Khamenei further noted that arrogant powers regularly engage in spreading propaganda and publicity with the ultimate objective of impeding Iran's scientific advancement.

"There is no doubt that decision-making establishments in countries that stand against us are quite aware that Iran does not seek nuclear weapons since the Islamic Republic of Iran regards the possession of nuclear weapons as a great sin, in terms of thought, theory and religious edict, and also believes that holding such weapons is useless, costly and dangerous," Leader of the Islamic Revolution said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that sanctions have been imposed on the country since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, although the nuclear issue is something related to the recent years.

"The key problem for the arrogant powers is the endurance of a nation that has decided to stay independent and reject tyranny," Leader of the Islamic Revolution said.
