Method of Praying in a Plane

Q: During long air travels when there is probability or certainty that prayer time is over upon reaching the destination it is often hard for the passenger to pray standing and facing qiblah. In such a case, is it permitted to pray while sitting one one’s chair without facing qiblah?
If it is allowed, would you mind to explain how to say the prayer?

A: If one cannot pray in standing position, one may pray sitting while observing qiblah direction as much as possible. And if rukū‘ and prostrations are not possible at all, one could make them by gesturing.
