During a recent meeting with senior judiciary officials and heads of court across the country, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution analysed the great work of the Iranian nation during the latest imposed war, the failed plans and miscalculations of the aggressors, and the tremendous unity of the Iranian people, with all their political differences and various religious factions, in defending [their] beloved Iran. He emphasised that everyone must maintain this national unity.
Ayatollah Khamenei said: "The great accomplishment of the [Iranian] nation during the 12 days of war was one of determination, will, and national self-confidence, as the existence of this spirit and readiness to confront an [aggressive] power like the United States and its Israeli regime attack dogs is very valuable."
He referred to memoirs published by agents of the Pahlavi regime, which confirm that no one dared to protest against the U.S., not even in secret and/or private meetings, and noted: "Iran has ascended from that past to a point where not only does it not fear the U.S., but it also scares it! This spirit and national will are what make Iran proud and what will lead it to great aspirations."
The Leader of the Revolution emphasised that friends and enemies alike should be aware that the Iranian nation will not appear as the weak side in any field, adding: "We possess all the requisite tools, such as logic and military power; therefore, whether on the diplomatic front or in the military arena, wherever we enter, we will do so, by God's grace, successfully and with full strength." Ayatollah Khamenei stressed: "While we do consider the Zionist regime a cancer and the U.S. a criminal for supporting it, we did not start the war; nonetheless, whenever the enemy attacked, our response was robust and firm.
Ayatollah Khamenei cited the clear evidence of the fact that in the face of Iran's strong and firm response to their aggression, the Zionist regime felt it necessity to turn for help to the United States and stated: "If the Zionist regime had not been crushed and made incapable of defending itself, it would not have resorted to the United States; however, it realized that it could not stand against the Islamic Republic."
The Leader of the Revolution described Iran's counterstrike against the U.S. attack as very effective and added: "The [military] base targeted by Iran was a [highly] significant American [military] base in the region. Whenever news censorship is lifted, it will become clear what a heavy blow Iran has inflicted. Of course, an even larger strike could be inflicted on the United States and others."
His Excellency Ayatollah Khamenei considered the emergence of such notable national unity during the recent war as crucial and described it as the obstacle that caused the enemy's plans to fail, adding: "The miscalculated plan of the aggressors was that by attacking certain personalities and strategic centres in Iran, the [government] system would be weakened, and then, by mobilising the dormant core of their mercenaries, from the hypocrites and [Pahlawi] monarchists to thugs and ruffians, they could manipulate the masses and push them into the streets to overthrow the government.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasised that the situation turned out to be precisely opposite to the enemy's mischievous plan, and it became clear that many of the calculations of specific individuals in political arenas and similar matters were all incorrect. Noting that the face, [malicious] plots, and hidden goals of the aggressive enemy were revealed to the public, he stated: "Almighty Allah (swt) nullified their plans and encouraged the people to support the government and the system. Contrary to the enemy's expectations, the nation rose in moral and financial support of the government."
The Leader of the Revolution described the speaking and standing together of individuals with completely different religious backgrounds and diverse and even opposing political orientations as a source of great national solidarity and stressed the need to maintain this great unity. He said: "Everyone, including journalists, judges, government officials, clerics, and Friday prayer leaders, must preserve and protect national unity." He did not consider the existence of political differences and varying religious denominations as obstructive to standing together in defence of a common truth, i.e., the defence of the beloved Iran and the Islamic Republic. Expressing the requirements for maintaining national unity, he said:
"It is necessary to address and clarify fallacies; however, raising and discussing unnecessary objections and creating chaos over trivial matters is harmful. Fallacies must even be refuted effectively to avoid causing problems for the country."
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasised that loyalty to the system and endorsing and supporting general [strategic] policies are essential and beneficial. He added that the existence of differences of opinion and the division into dissimilar factions, which, in themselves, are harmful, should not be exacerbated. He also considered the enthusiasm and excitement of the public, especially [our beloved] youth, to be necessary and reasonable, stating that impatience, foot-stomping, and protesting why something hasn't been done is detrimental.
In his latest recommendations, the Leader of the Revolution emphasised the need for the activities of responsible military and diplomatic entities to continue with strength, proper orientation, and precision, stating: "Of course, [special] attention must be paid to the [direction and] orientation, because orientation, especially in the realm of diplomacy, is [fundamentally] critical and must be achieved with care and precision."
He pointed to the option of an individual raising objections against officials in military or diplomatic sectors, adding: "We are not saying they should not express their objections; rather, objections and criticisms should be made in a constructive tone, after careful investigation and information gathering, as sometimes certain statements and objections that appear in the media stem from ignorance."
His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei asserted that officials must continue their work with full strength and whole spirit, saying: "Everyone should know that Almighty Allah (swt) has guaranteed His support for the Iranian nation under the Islamic system and the umbrella of the Qur'an and Islam in accordance with the verse: 'And Allah will surely support those who support Him.' [Qur’an: C.22:V.40]
Thus, this nation will certainly be victorious."
In this meeting, the Leader of the Revolution expressed gratitude to the head and all active officials of the judiciary, calling the activities carried out in this branch good and encouraging. He added that alongside the accomplished tasks, attention must always be paid to the necessary yet uncompleted work, and efforts should be made to achieve it. He referred to the legal pursuit of crimes committed during the recent war by the Zionist regime as essential, stating that there were shortcomings, and legal follow-ups should also have been made in previous cases. However, the judiciary must seriously pursue the recent crimes through international and domestic courts, with full attention, precision, and consideration given to all aspects. The Leader emphasised that the outcome of all recommendations to the judiciary should be reflected in the public's trust in it, stating: "We have repeatedly said in meetings with judicial officials that we must act in a way that anyone who is oppressed or violated in any corner of the country is confident that their issue can be resolved by referring to the judiciary." He deemed the need to address and combat corruption, both within and outside the judiciary, crucial to achieving this desired goal, adding that combating corruption fosters hope and trust amongst the nation's citizens.
At the beginning of this meeting, HIWM Mohseni Eje'i, Head of the Judiciary, stated that the enemy failed to achieve its goals because of the nation's vigilance and the leadership of the Supreme Leader. He said: "Another golden page has been added to the book of national honours. Moreover, the whole world has witnessed our opponents' deceitful and cheating nature.
The Head of the Judiciary pointed out some outstanding measures taken by the judiciary in the past year: update of the transformation program of the judiciary and good progress in achieving its goals; preparation of necessary measures for implementing the law on properties; improved interactions with executive bodies to oversee the proper implementation of laws; the reduction in time taken to handle lawsuits; increased resolution of disputes through peaceful negotiations and reconciliation; the active presence of judicial officials among the people and in mosques; and the provision of over two million free legal consultation sessions to the public. He further added: "Regarding legal action against criminals and the evil Zionist regime in the International Criminal Court, effective work has been carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council."
