In a message to the 59th Annual Meeting of the Union of Islamic Student Associations in Europe, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the failure of the massive offensive by the U.S. military and its shameful offshoot in the region brought about by the initiative, courage, and sacrifice of the youth of Islamic Iran. He said that the principal cause of the confusion afflicting these corrupt and mischievous bullies is not the nuclear issue, but rather it is the raising of the banner of confrontation with the unjust order and the global hegemonic system, and Iran's pivot toward a just national and international Islamic order.

The text of the message from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Dear Young People!

This year, your country, by the blessing of faith, unity, and self-confidence, has gained fresh prestige and standing in the world. The massive onslaught of the United States military and its shameful offshoot in the region were defeated by the initiative, courage, and self-sacrifice of the youth of Islamic Iran. It was proved that by drawing upon its own capabilities, under the shadow of faith and righteous deeds, and in confrontation with corrupt and arrogant oppressors, the Iranian nation can stand firm and proclaim the call of Islamic values to the world louder than ever before.

The profound grief over the martyrdom of some of our scientists and commanders, and a number of our dear people, has not been, and will never be able to stop the determined youth of Iran. The families of those martyrs themselves stand among the vanguards of this movement.

It is not about the nuclear issue or things like that. It is about standing up to the unjust order, against the domineering imposition of the system of global hegemony in the world today, and of turning towards a just national and international Islamic system. This is the great cause that Islamic Iran has raised its banner for, and which has enraged the corrupt and aggressive powers.

You students, especially those abroad, bear a share of this great responsibility upon your shoulders. Entrust your hearts to God, recognise your own capabilities, and guide your associations in this direction.

God is with you, and complete victory awaits you, God willing.
