Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, responded to several letters students wrote to him from across the country in recent months. In them, they declared their determination, resolve, and acceptance of their responsibility for building the future as a covenant binding the Leadership and the youth. He stressed equipping oneself with the weapons of knowledge, faith, and self-purification, and redoubling efforts to strengthen Iran’s power.
The text of the Islamic Revolution Leader’s response is as follows:
In the Name of the Most High
To my dear children,
I have read your affectionate letters. I thank you, the young and motivated students, for your abundant kindness, and I will pray especially for each of you who has placed a debt of gratitude on my shoulders.
Your letters, together with those from many other young people and university students who have shown this humble servant their kindness and affection, shine with determination, resolve and a sense of responsibility for building the future.

This firm covenant is a precious trust. It is rooted in the school of pure Muhammadan Islam (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and in the legacy of the great Khomeini and the Martyred Khamenei (may God exalt their noble stations). It is the bond of our mutual agreement.
To this end, arm yourselves as much as you can with the weapons of knowledge, faith, self-purification, closeness to God, and a profound understanding of the teachings of the Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). Strengthen and empower our beloved Iran through redoubled work and innovation. Then, through the prayers of our kind Master (may God hasten his noble reappearance), may the forces united by this shared commitment advance ever more effectively and swiftly towards the peaks of Islamic-Iranian progress and civilisation, God willing.
