Details of the Funeral Procession and Burial Service of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran, Qom and Mashhad

The Headquarters for Commemorating the Bloody Ascension of the Mujahid Imam, the Martyr, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (May Allah sanctify his pure soul) announces the details of the funeral procession and burial service of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

The text of this statement is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful

“Among the believers are men who have proven true to the covenant they made with Allah. Some of them are those who have fulfilled their vow, and some are those who still await, and they have not changed in the least.” (Quran 33:23)

Following the bloody ascension of the most esteemed religious authority of the Shi‘ite world, the wise Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Standard-Bearer of the Front of Truth and the Resistance, the Mujahid Imam, the Martyr, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei (may Allah sanctify his pure soul), the Islamic world mourns the loss of a great man who spent his entire blessed life elevating the Word of Truth, defending Islam, serving the people, and guiding the Islamic ummah.

This martyred leader, with unwavering faith, sincere struggle, steadfast patience, and divine insight, always kept the flag of dear Iran's independence and the guidance and honour of the Islamic ummah raised high. The name and memory of this unique figure of the era will remain eternal in the history of beloved Iran, in the history of the Islamic world, and in the hearts of free people the world over.

The Headquarters for Commemorating the Bloody Ascension of the Mujahid Imam, the Martyr, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (May Allah elevate his noble station), offers condolences to the sacred presence of Imam of the Age (the Wali al-‘Asr, may Allah hasten his reappearance), and to all free nations and all those devoted to the path of truth. We announce our deep gratitude and appreciation for the fervent and loyal presence of the mobilised people of Islamic Iran and all those devoted to Islam and the Revolution.

Following the previous announcements by this Headquarters, and considering the arrangements made, the noble and mourning public is hereby informed that the farewell ceremonies, the funeral procession and burial service for the pure body of this Mujahid Imam and martyred Leader, along with the members of his family; the noble martyrs Dr. Mesbah al-Hoda Bagheri-Kani, Seyyedeh Boshra Hosseini Khamenei, Zahra Haddad-Adel and Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani (May God's mercy be upon them all) will be held as follows:

Saturday, July 4^th/13^th Tir, and Sunday, July 5^th/14^th Tir, 2026/1405 (corresponding to the 19^th and 20^th Muharram): The farewell ceremony for the pure body will be held at the Imam Khomeini (May his secret be sanctified) Prayer Grounds (Musalla) in Tehran.

Monday, July 6^th/15^th Tir, 2026/1405 (corresponding to the 21^st Muharram): Funeral procession in Tehran.

Tuesday, July 7^th/16^th Tir, 2026/1405 (corresponding to the 22^nd of Muharram): Funeral procession in the holy city of Qom.

Thursday, July 9^th/18^th Tir, 2026/1405 (corresponding to the 24^th Muharram, the night of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sajjad (as): Funeral procession in holy Mashhad and burial at the heavenly shrine of Imam al-Reza (upon him be thousands of greetings).

All members of the noble and dear public, the free people of the world, those devoted to the school of Islam, and admirers of Iran are invited to attend these magnificent ceremonies to bid farewell to this martyred Leader.

In conclusion, we would like to thank the responsible institutions and popular groups for their extensive preparations and planning in holding this event. We would like to emphasise that the primary role in conducting these ceremonies will be shouldered by the noble people, who are always present in the field, as the true owners of this mourning commemoration. God willing, this will be a magnificent and unparalleled display of this popular event.
