        The Discouraged Acts (Makrūhāt) of Iḥrām

         

        The Makrūhāt (the disliked acts, but not ḥarām) of iḥrām are as follows:
        1. Entering iḥrām in garments that are black, dirty, or striped. It is preferable for the iḥrām garments to be white.
        2. Sleeping on yellow pillows or bedding.
        3. Applying henna before iḥrām if its color remains at the time of entering iḥrām.
        4.  Responding with the word "labbayk" to someone who calls the muḥrim (a Hajj pilgrim in the state of iḥrām).
        5. Bathing and rubbing the body with a rough loofah or similar items.
