Ruling 245: It is not necessary for Hajj pilgrims in the state of iḥrām to hold their noses to avoid unpleasant odors. However, there is no objection to leaving the area where the odor is present.
Ruling 246: If Hajj pilgrims in the state of iḥrām intentionally use fragrance—whether edible or non-edible—the obligatory caution (al-iḥtiyāṭ al-wājib) is that they should offer a kaffārah (expiation, atonement) of one sheep.
Ruling 247: It is forbidden (ḥarām) for Hajj pilgrims in the state of iḥrām to look into a mirror with the intention (nīyyah) of grooming and beautification. However, there is no objection to looking into a mirror without such intention, such as a driver checking a rearview mirror.
Ruling 248: Clear water or polished surfaces that reflect an image carry the same ruling as a mirror. Thus, it is not permissible to looking into them with the intention (nīyyah) of grooming and beautification.
Ruling 249: If there is a mirror in the room where a muḥrim (Hajj pilgrim in the state of iḥrām) is staying and he knows that his eyes may occasionally fall upon it unintentionally, there is no objection to staying in that room. However, it is preferable to remove the mirror or cover it.
Ruling 250: It is permissible for a Hajj pilgrim in the state of iḥrām to take photographs with a camera or filming.
Ruling 251: There is no kaffārah (expiation, atonement) for looking into a mirror; however, the obligatory caution (al-iḥtiyāṭ al-wājib) is that talbīyah (saying labbaik…) should be recited after looking into a mirror.
