            11. Removing Hair from the Body

Ruling 267: While in a state of iḥrām, it is forbidden (ḥarām) for Hajj pilgrims to remove hair from any part of their heads or bodies. This ruling applies equally to small or large amounts—even a single hair—and whether it is plucked, cut, or shaved, and whether it is from their own bodies or the bodies of others.
Ruling 268: If a hair is unintentionally removed during wuḍū’ (ritual ablution; minor ritual ablution; minor ritual purity), ghusl (a full-body ritual washing for ṭahārah; major ritual purity), or tayammum (ritual ablution with soil as specified in Islam; dry ablution), there is no objection to doing so.
Ruling 269: If a Hajj pilgrim is compelled to remove hair—such as an eyelash that causes discomfort or hair on the head that leads to a headache—there is no objection to this removal.
Ruling 270: If Hajj pilgrims in the state of iḥrām intentionally and knowingly shave their heads, they are obligated to offer a kaffārah (expiation, atonement) of one sheep. However, if this action is due to negligence, inadvertent error, or ignorance of the ruling, it is not obligatory (wājib) for them to offer a kaffārah.
Ruling 271: If Hajj pilgrims in the state of iḥrām are compelled to shave their heads, it is obligatory for them to give a kaffārah (expiation, atonement) of twelve mudds (each mudd weighing 750 grams) of food, which should be given to six needy persons, or fast for three days, or offer one sheep as a kaffārah.
Ruling 272: If Hajj pilgrims in the state of iḥrām trim their head hair with scissors or a hair clipper, the obligatory caution (al-iḥtiyāṭ al-wājib) is that they should offer a kaffārah (expiation, atonement) of one sheep.
Ruling 273: If Hajj pilgrims run their hands over their heads or faces and one or more hairs fall out, the recommended precaution (al-iḥtiyāṭ al-mustaḥabb) is that they should give an amount equivalent to one handful of wheat, flour, or a similar item to a needy person.
