Ruling 289: It is forbidden (ḥarām) to uproot, cut down, or break any tree or plant growing within the boundaries of the Ḥaram. This ruling applies to everyone, regardless of whether they are in iḥrām or not.
Ruling 290: Plants that are uprooted by walking on them or grazing animals are exempt from the prohibition of the previous ruling.
Ruling 291: There is no kaffārah (expiation; atonement) for uprooting plants within the boundaries of the Ḥaram, and it is obligatory to seek Allah’s forgiveness (istighfar). However, if a Hajj pilgrim in the state of iḥrām cuts down a tree that is forbidden (ḥarām) to be cut, the obligatory caution (al-iḥtiyāṭ al-wājib) is that he should offer a kaffārah of one cow.
